The Staff Accountant will report directly to the Accounting Manager and will be responsible for various general accounting functions. This is a position in which the individual will be primarily focused on the General Ledger duties of an accounting department performing journal entries, reconciliations and participating in various projects as requested. It is an exciting position for an individual who wants to work for a fast-paced international company and grow in the corporate accounting field while experiencing the full breadth of the accounting function.

Perform monthly activities which include processing journal entries, account reconciliations, account analysis, managing specific accounting system subledgers, etc. Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations across multiple legal entities, ensuring balances are properly supported and variances are investigated timely. Record and reconcile intercompany transactions across multiple legal entities, including preparation of elimination entries for intercompany balances in accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue, and cost of goods sold. Prepare and post a variety of monthly accrual journal entries, including accruals for operating expenses such as utilities, insurance, professional services, audit fees, payroll-related costs, and other general and administrative expenses across multiple entities. Support fixed asset accounting activities, including creation of new assets, reclassification from clearing accounts to the fixed asset module, and execution of monthly depreciation and amortization runs for tangible and intangible assets. Process and reconcile prepayment allocations on a monthly basis, ensuring accurate amortization and proper GL classification across multiple entities and regions. Assist with payroll journal entry processing across domestic and international entities, coordinating with HR and external payroll providers to ensure timely and accurate recording of payroll-related costs. Support revenue accounting activities, including preparation and posting of revenue-related journal entries and related reclassification entries. Assist with indirect tax compliance activities, including downloading and organizing invoices for VAT and GST filings, and coordinating with regulatory portals to support timely submissions. Ensure all accrual reversals are posted accurately at the start of each month and maintain proper documentation to support month-end close integrity and audit readiness. Assist with accounting process improvement initiatives, close optimization efforts, and enhancement of reconciliation and reporting workflows. Support internal and external audit requests by preparing reconciliations, supporting schedules, and documentation.

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. 1-2 years' experience in general ledger accounting, including hands-on journal entry preparation and account reconciliation. Demonstrated ability to perform month-end close tasks across multiple entities, including accruals, reconciliations, and intercompany entries. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including use of formulas, pivot tables, and reconciliation. workbooks; familiarity with Word and other MS Office tools. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to read and analyze financial reports. Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
Experience working in a large ERP system (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or equivalent) Experience in a multi-entity or multi-currency environment Familiarity with fixed asset accounting, including depreciation runs and capitalization entries Basic understanding of indirect tax concepts (VAT, GST, HST) Exposure to payroll journal entry processing or coordination with payroll providers
