Job Description

Overview The General Ledger Accountant will be responsible for all General Ledger activities for the Americas Region. Activities to include but are not limited to the month end closing process, journal entry preparation, financial analysis of profitability, and other business activities as required. Responsibilities Assist with the month end closing process. Accesses Celanese systems to find all charges to DTF, and creates mirror images in DTF's SAP system. Look for missing charges, and creates accruals as needed (and track to reverse when billed). Hopewell utilities accounting. Calculates and books in-transit inventory on imports. Various Accruals (Bonus, KPMG, Property Tax, etc.). Entries to allocate engineering hours to projects. Performs entries to amortize annual billings across the relevant months. Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliations. Accounts Receivable / Cash Application. Accounts Payable Processing. Provide data on Sales/Use Tax Activity to Tax Department. Prepare miscellaneous invoices for shared costs and/or non-film services provided. Maintain up-to-date procedures. Updates Regional Finance Model (strong Excel skills needed). Updates Capital Project Spending database monthly. Manages SAP process for reversing documents. KPMG audit support as needed. Qualifications Bachelors (or higher) degree in Accounting, Finance, Analytics Excellent Excel skills SAP Experience strongly preferred Must have ability for extended hours during 1st week of each month, and at year-end closing Able to self-manage multiple priorities Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal skills required as this position works with individuals in other functions, and works as part of a team.
