$40,898.00 to $63,102.00

The Role

HII has an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Business Management (Financial Accounting & Reporting) intern at the corporate office in Newport News, Virginia during the Summer of 2027!

For 10 weeks you will: Assist in the monthly and quarterly financial close and associated reporting as required. Learn to generate and interpret accurate and concise financial reports Perform general ledger account reconciliation utilizing Blackline accounting software

Assists with tie-out process of quarterly footnotes and supporting work papers

Log monthly intercompany accounting transfers and reconcile balances

Learn monthly to enhance business writing, professional networking and communication skills All applicants must ensure the information below has been provided when applying for the summer internship program:

  • Must Have
    1. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (Official transcripts will be required)
    2. Be enrolled in a relevant degreed program that supports the company's business requirements which are typically in the following areas:
  • Business Management
  • Accounting
  • Economics/Finance
  • Tax Accounting or Accounting Taxation

  • 3. Currently attending a 4 year college or university (or 2+2 program) and ideally will be a rising Junior or above, and will be attending school in the fall following the internship, or currently enrolled in a relevant Master's program
    4. Ability to work a 40-hour work week for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer
