The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the accounting and financial functions of a manufacturing operation, including general accounting, inventory and cost accounting, financial reporting, and cross-functional collaboration with operations and production teams. Staff Accountant:
General Accounting Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts. Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities. Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts. Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules. Analyze financial statements and variances. Assist with financial reporting and management reporting packages. Support hourly payroll processing. Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules. Support budgeting and forecasting activities. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies. Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Review and process vendor invoices. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies. Monitor customer payments and collections activities. Assist with cash flow forecasting. Process employee expense reports. Inventory & Cost Accounting Monitor raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods inventory. Reconcile inventory sub-ledgers to the general ledger. Analyze inventory variances and manufacturing costs. Assist with standard cost updates and cost rollups. Track scrap, waste, and production variances. Support physical inventories and cycle count activities. Review inventory valuation and reserves. Manufacturing Accounting Analyze production costs and operational efficiencies. Review labor, overhead, and material allocations. Monitor manufacturing variances. Support costing for new packaging products. Assist operations management with financial analysis. Evaluate production performance metrics. ERP Systems & Reporting Maintain accounting data within ERP systems, including IQMS and Paylocity. Generate financial and operational reports. Improve accounting processes and internal controls. Ensure data accuracy and integrity across systems. Tax & Compliance Assist with sales and use tax filings. Support annual tax preparation activities. Maintain records for tax audits. Assist with regulatory and compliance reporting requirements. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Operations, Production, Quality Assurance, Purchasing, and Supply Chain teams. Support inventory management initiatives. Provide financial analysis and reporting support to department managers. Participate in process improvement projects. Requirements for the
Staff Accountant:
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Experience with manufacturing and cost accounting. Inventory accounting and financial analysis expertise. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with account reconciliations and internal controls. Knowledge of audit support and accounting best practices. Experience working within ERP systems; IQMS and Paylocity experience preferred. FDA-regulated manufacturing environment experience is a plus. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. High attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Minimum of three (3) years of accounting experience required. Previous manufacturing accounting experience strongly preferred. Cost accounting and inventory accounting experience preferred. #
