Job Description

Description SAIC has an immediate opening for a full-time Accountant. This position supports high visibility customer activities that are critical to national security. Our team promotes a culture of collaboration, creativity, and work-life balance. In this role you will be responsible for assessing technical accounting requirements for a variety of complex transactions; implementing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); recommending and implementing industry best practices; and ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures are maintained for all relevant process areas.
In this role responsibilities include:
Perform technical accounting research on transactions of substantial size Assist in the preparation of periodic financial reporting and executive summaries Review and analyze new accounting pronouncements and determine impacts Assist in the drafting of new/updated global accounting policies Provide analysis and support to external auditors Perform corporate tax analysis and review of federal state and local tax filings
Responsibilities:
Perform technical accounting research on significant and unique transactions and assist in the preparation of accounting memoranda and executive summaries documenting the accounting impact and conclusions Review and analyze new accounting pronouncements to determine the impact and when applicable, assist with the implementation of new standards Assist in the drafting of new/updated global accounting policies Provide analysis and support to external auditors Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting prior to starting this position 3 years of related experience, which can be professional or academic Must hold a TS/SCI and Poly A strong interest in performing technical accounting research over a broad range of topics Ability to navigate and interpret relevant authoritative literature to evaluate and recommend solutions Exceptional communication skills Strong organizational and management skills Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Willingness to conduct domestic travel
