Description:
Project Accountant Geoquest USA, Inc. (formerly The Reinforced Earth Company) is recognized as the inventor and market leader of the MSE (Mechanically Stabilized Earth) retaining wall industry. The company provides the design and supply of materials of proprietary retaining wall systems and earth related technologies to contractors and owners for use in civil engineering. Our company works as a sub-contractor/material supplier on DOT and privately owned projects. We perform all duties associated with our jobs from sales, marketing, civil engineering/design, supply, and construction support. The Project Accountant reports to the Controller and is responsible for all aspects of the project accounting system keeping Regional Managers, Project Managers, Division Managers and Senior Management team informed of project status of all projects in their assigned Divisions. Responsibilities include review, verify and process all postings and adjustments to projects.
Responsibilities include:
Oversee all aspects of the project accounting system; i.e. set up of projects, entering project budgets and Change Orders, correcting posting errors Ensure the accuracy and completeness projects costs Verify AP postings to projects for accuracy Process inventory transfers to projects Review and reconciles project entries with Project Managers Reconcile Production posted to the projects and process Precast Accruals Process Back charges and Write-offs Post expenses to Project Cost; generate sales and review for accuracy Troubleshoot and coordinate with Precast and Purchasing departments to correct data errors Maintain Project Manager "Action Item" report Close project accounting for month end Generate Month end financial reports for Senior Management Generate revenue and cost accounting event Transfer revenue and cost to GL Reconciling sales tracking system to project accounting system. Consolidate commentary for project budget variances
Education/Skill/Experience:
2-3 years of related experience required Intermediate Accounting knowledge Knowledge of Project and Contract Accounting Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy Ability to analyze budget and cost variances. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment Oracle experience a plus Strong analytical skills CPA or working towards CPA is an asset Proficient with MS Office, particularly with
