Job Description

Scarlet Road (SR) is a survivor-informed, faith-based non-profit organization serving individuals who need support exiting the legal and illegal sex industry. Scarlet Road provides outreach to at-risk individuals, community providers, and schools, and provides aftercare services for those ready and able to leave the sex industry. We aim to meet the basic and long term needs of the most vulnerable people in our community to equip them with skills to gain independence and find success and healing from their past. The Scarlet Road Staff Accountant is an integral part of the accounting team who reports to the Director of Finance and works alongside the Bookkeeper. The Staff Accountant is responsible for reconciling all bank accounts monthly and all balance sheet accounts annually. Producing monthly financial statements to the board of directors and monthly budget updates to each program is a key responsibility. This position does not require an in-depth knowledge of sexual exploitation, however we do ask that there is some knowledge regarding support services for survivors.
Job Responsibilities:
Supporting all financial systems and processes Assistance developing the annual budget Work in tandem with bookkeeper to close the books each month Supports program directors in providing monthly program budget updates and restricted funds updates Oversee Gift-In-Kind tracking Reconciles the donor management software to the accounting software on a monthly basis to ensure accurate data entry Provides financial statements internally and externally (board of directors, program teams, grants team for applications) Reviews monthly payroll and reconciles payroll taxes quarterly Management of restricted funds tracking Additional duties may be included within the scope of the position
Qualifications:
At least 2 years of experience in accounting, financial operations, budget oversight, taxes and other financial operations Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred Analytical and has the ability to communicate and interpret data and adapt reporting as necessary. High level of professionalism and discretion managing financial information Ability to pass an extensive background check Ability to work with a team and collaborate Experience running payroll and working with payroll processing Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal skills Passion for Scarlet Road's mission and values Detail oriented, analytical, organized, articulate, motivated, reliable, team player, and resourceful Alignment with Scarlet Road's statement of faith and core values with a desire to see individuals free from all forms of gender based violence and finding safety and healing
