Project Accountant

Description Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to support a dynamic, project-based accounting team. This role will focus on financial reporting, job costing, and compliance activities tied to active projects, while partnering closely with internal teams to ensure accurate funding, reporting, and execution. Key Responsibilities + Prepare and review project draw packages and supporting documentation for funding requests + Generate and distribute monthly financial reports related to project activity + Review project financials, including job cost and contract reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness + Identify and escalate discrepancies, billing issues, or compliance risks + Assist with preparation and review of project-level and joint venture financial statements + Review compliance documentation such as lien waivers and related project records + Support capital calls, distributions, and related financial processes + Partner with internal teams, vendors, and subcontractors to address project accounting questions + Provide support during audit and year-end processes, including responding to documentation requests Requirements + Experience supporting job costing and project-based billing processes, including construction draw processes and the preparation and review of AIA G702 and G703 forms + Accounting experience required, with experience in real estate development and/or construction project accounting strongly preferred. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with experience in ERP or construction/project accounting systems (e.g., Yardi, Textura, or similar platforms) required + Solid understanding of core accounting principles and project accounting workflows, including contract billing and cost tracking + Ability to prepare and analyze financial reports, perform account reconciliations, and identify variances + Working knowledge of general accounting concepts, including journal entries, debits, and credits + Strong numerical aptitude with the ability to perform accurate calculations and data analysis + Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment + Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy + Effective written and verbal communication skills across cross-functional teams + Ability to work independently while also contributing collaboratively within a team setting + Demonstrates sound judgment and composure when working under pressure + Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
