Job Description

Senior Accountant Location:
Vancouver, WA Salary:
$85,000 – 100,000 About the Role This position offers the opportunity to join a stable, long-standing leader in the manufacturing space. As a Senior Accountant, you will handle a range of corporate accounting functions, including foreign exchange, hedge accounting, and lease management. It is a role designed for a technical professional who enjoys the complexities of a manufacturing environment and wants to be part of a legacy-driven company that prioritizes professional growth and safety. The team is looking for a grounded, detail-oriented leader who can work independently on complex tasks while collaborating across departments. You will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our financial records, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and modernizing workflows to build efficiency within the General Ledger team.
Essential Functions Complex Accounting:
Prepare detailed analyses, journal entries, and reconciliations for foreign currency translation, hedge accounting, and intercompany accruals.
Lease & Asset Management:
Maintain accurate records for financial reporting by reviewing lease documentation and determining appropriate accounting treatment.
Treasury & Hedge Administration:
Administer the company's foreign currency hedge program and provide backup support for daily cash reconciliations and borrowing administration.
Audit & Reporting Support:
Assist with external financial audits, internal reviews, and the preparation of financial disclosure schedules.
Tax Coordination:
Support the income tax provision process and oversee communication with tax jurisdictions to ensure timely reporting and resolution of issues.
Process Documentation:
Maintain and update internal control procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all assigned areas.
Team Development:
Provide training and cross-training to the General Ledger team and develop training materials for operations personnel.
Special Projects:
Lead various initiatives and special projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred. A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience; manufacturing industry experience is a plus. Strong grasp of GAAP and technical accounting. High proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with SAP is preferred. Familiarity with internal controls and the ability to document complex workflows clearly. A grounded, positive attitude with a desire to contribute to the collective success of the team. Strong communication skills for interacting with internal departments, external auditors, and bank representatives. Timing is everything.
