Staff Accountant Position Summary We are seeking a Staff Accountant to support the financial operations of our transportation and trucking company. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reconciliations, supporting month-end closing, and assisting with freight, fleet, and operational accounting activities. Responsibilities Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts. Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts. Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities. Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and freight billing processes. Review and reconcile fuel, maintenance, and fleet-related expenses. Assist with driver settlements and transportation-related financial reporting. Prepare account analyses and assist with budgeting and audits. Research and resolve accounting discrepancies. Support process improvements and other accounting projects as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. 2+ years of accounting experience. Experience in trucking, transportation, logistics, or a related industry preferred. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and Microsoft Excel. Experience with accounting and transportation management software is a plus. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Pay:

$28.00 - $30.00 per hour
