Job Description

Coon Valley Farmers Telephone is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Accountant to support accounting, billing, payroll, reporting, and customer account activity for our local broadband and communications company. This is a hands-on role with variety. You'll help keep financial records accurate, support daily office operations, and work closely with customers, vendors, auditors, and internal team members. Responsibilities Process accounts payable, vendor invoices, payments, and related records. Support payroll, payroll reporting, deductions, and related reconciliations. Post journal entries and assist with general ledger, bank, and account reconciliations. Assist with month-end and year-end close, audit requests, and routine reporting. Maintain customer payment, billing, inventory, fixed asset, and work order records as needed. Use NISC/IVUE, Microsoft Excel, and other company systems to enter data and run reports. Keep electronic and paper records organized, accurate, and confidential. Provide backup support for customer service, payments, billing questions, phones, and general office needs. Assist with additional accounting, administrative, customer service, or office responsibilities as assigned or needed. Basic Qualifications Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent accounting or bookkeeping experience will be considered. Working knowledge of basic accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial recordkeeping. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word and the ability to learn accounting, billing, and reporting systems. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-through. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing daily needs in a small-office environment. Professional communication skills, a customer-service mindset, and the ability to maintain confidential information. Highly Qualified Candidates Will Possess 1-3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, accounts payable, or utility/customer billing experience. Experience preferred with NISC/IVUE or similar utility, telecommunications, or customer information systems. Telecommunications, broadband, cooperative, utility, or construction accounting experience. Comfort working independently while collaborating with management, coworkers, customers, vendors, and auditors.
