a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; } Property Accountant About the Opportunity We are seeking a Property Accountant to manage the accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial properties, including office, retail, and mixed-use assets. This role is ideal for someone with commercial real estate accounting experience who enjoys owning the monthly close process, lease accounting, and partnering with property management teams. Key Responsibilities for the Property Accountant Commercial Property Accounting Prepare monthly financial statements for assigned properties Perform CAM reconciliations, tenant billings, percentage rent, and lease-related accounting Maintain lease abstracts and ensure billing accuracy Monitor tenant receivables, delinquencies, and security deposits Month-End Close & Reporting Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations Complete bank reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules Analyze budget-to-actual variances Assist with annual budgets and forecasts Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules Portfolio Support Review AP and AR activity for assigned properties Support Market Rate and LIHTC portfolios as needed Partner with Property Management and Operations to resolve accounting issues Assist with process improvements and system enhancements Qualifications for the
Property Accountant Required:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 3–5+ years of property accounting experience Experience with commercial real estate accounting, including CAM reconciliations and lease administration Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting Strong Excel skills
Preferred:
Experience with Yardi, MRI, RealPage, AppFolio, or similar systems Market Rate or LIHTC accounting experience Budgeting and forecasting experience Why This Role?
