Job Description

Join our dynamic finance team as a Staff Accountant and become a vital contributor to our organization's financial health and integrity! In this evolving role, you will be responsible for executing essential accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting the preparation of accurate financial reports. This position will have primary tariff tracking responsibility. Your expertise will help drive informed decision-making and uphold our commitment to transparency and excellence. Manage general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures. Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and accounts receivable/payable processes to ensure accuracy and completeness. Support internal controls compliance, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) procedures, and assist with audits by providing necessary documentation. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic planning initiatives. Maintain proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, Xero, or similar platforms to streamline accounting workflows. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects involving corporate finance, governmental accounting, non-profit accounting (including LIHTC), or securities law compliance. Mentor junior staff members by sharing best practices in technical accounting, debits & credits, and financial report writing to foster professional growth.
Tariff Impact Analysis:
Calculate the financial impact of current and proposed tariffs on imported goods and raw materials.
Cost Accounting:
Maintain accurate landed cost models, ensuring all duties and trade fees are correctly allocated to inventory.
HS Code Support:
Work with the logistics team to ensure correct Harmonized System (HS) classifications to prevent overpayment or compliance penalties.
Audit & Reconciliation:
Review customs broker invoices and duty statements for accuracy; reconcile trade-related accounts in the general ledger.
Regulatory Reporting:
Assist in preparing documentation for duty drawback programs or trade-related tax filings. Associates/Bachelor's egree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Proven experience in financial accounting within public accounting firms or corporate environments. Strong knowledge of GAAP, accrual accounting, double-entry bookkeeping, and financial concepts. Hands-on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, Xero or similar tools; familiarity with Quicken is a plus. Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and balance sheet analysis accurately. Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and regulatory reporting standards. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and prepare detailed reports. Effective communication skills for financial report writing and presentation to stakeholders. Ability to mentor team members while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Pay:
$55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
