OVERVIEW
Join a growing Accounting Firm as a Senior Accountant! BTBK Accounting Services specializes in providing Consulting and Full-Service Accounting to restaurant industry clients. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in the accounting department, overseeing various accounting functions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing financial insights to support business decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Financial Reporting:
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP or other relevant accounting standards.
General Ledger Management:
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing analysis and insights to support strategic planning.
Month-End Close:
Lead the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
Audit Support:
Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate information is provided.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant regulatory requirements.
Variance Analysis:
Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for significant differences between actual and budgeted/forecasted figures.
Financial Analysis:
Perform detailed financial analysis to support business decisions, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
Team Leadership:
Mentor and support junior accounting staff, providing guidance and fostering professional development.
Process Improvement:
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the accounting function.
Ad Hoc Projects:
Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management. Qualifications -
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Restaurant365) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Leadership and team-building capabilities.
Certifications:
CPA or relevant accounting certification is a bonus.
Work Environment:
Hybrid Environment (T/Th - Madison Office
REQUIRED
; M/W/F - At Home) Occasional overtime may be required during peak periods, audits, or month-end closings.
