Position Summary This position supports the Accounting Supervisor and Finance team with general ledger accounting, month-end close procedures, account reconciliations, accounts payable support, and other accounting functions. The Staff Accountant is responsible for completing assigned accounting activities accurately and timely and assists with financial reporting, tax compliance, audits, and other accounting projects as directed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Performs month-end closing procedures and reconciliations. Prepares various general ledger reconciliations and analyses. Prepares and posts journal entries as needed. Supports, contributes and provides guidance to Accounts Payable workflow and processes Reconciles bank statements. Prepare and Submit Sales and Use Tax. Assists with Corporate Audit and Tax preparation. Assists in inventory reconciliation and prepares reports for physical inventory and audit. Daily and Weekly Cash Flow review. Assists with the preparation of Credit Applications. Assists with administration of credit card program (adds, deletes, downloads monthly reports). Prepares general ledger reports for the annual budget process and contributes to monthly budget analysis. This position may review work product and coach or mentor. Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager. Working Conditions Work is performed indoors in a typical office setting. Exposure to standard office conditions, including exposure to heating and air conditioning, and operation of a computer.
Education, Certification and License:
Associates and/or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Equivalent combination of education and relevant accounting experience.
Experience:
Minimum 3 to 4 years of accounting experience is required.
Specific Requirements:
Strong GAAP and General Ledger accounting skills are required. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel knowledge. Working knowledge of landscaping or construction processes preferred. Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills. Leadership, positive attitude, and proven ability to coach teammates during work product review. Strong aptitude for process improvement and standardization. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly walks, sits, talks and listens for long periods of time throughout the day. Squats, stoops, or kneels and lifts objects from ground. Occasionally lifts weight of up to 50 pounds. Occasionally required to reach above shoulders. Vision and fine motor skills required for use of computers and creating communication. Job Specifications Full-time, year-round position. Typical schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility required based on workload.
