Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Madison, Wisconsin. In this role, you will handle a variety of accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards. Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with regulations and accuracy in reporting.
• Manage sales tax filings and related documentation to meet state and local requirements.
• Perform reconciliations for accounts and transactions to maintain precise financial records.
• Create and post journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring proper categorization and alignment with accounting standards.
• Maintain and update the general ledger, addressing discrepancies and ensuring its accuracy.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support day-to-day accounting operations and resolve financial queries.
• Assist in preparing financial reports and statements to provide insights into organizational performance.
• Monitor compliance with tax laws and accounting standards, implementing necessary updates as required.
• Support audits by providing accurate data and documentation to auditors.
