05/22/2026 A growing industrial services company in the Milwaukee area is seeking a temp to hire Business Unit Accountant to support the financial operations of one or more business units. This role will partner closely with operations leadership and assist with month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and project-related accounting activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving processes and multiple systems. Experience within construction, industrial services, manufacturing, or project-based environments is highly preferred, but not required. Fully in-office position Monday through
Friday Comp:
$70,000-75,000 Key Responsibilities Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes for assigned business units Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Review project/job costing and help ensure accurate revenue and expense recognition Partner with operational leaders to analyze financial performance and improve reporting visibility Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies Assist with AP, AR, payroll, and cash-related accounting tasks as needed Support audit requests and maintain accurate financial documentation Help drive process improvements and efficiencies across accounting functions Work within ERP/accounting systems such as NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains), and/or Acumatica Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 3+ years of accounting experience preferred Experience in construction, industrial services, manufacturing, or project-based accounting environments is a plus Familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Great Plains/Dynamics GP, or Acumatica preferred Strong Excel skills including reconciliations, formulas, and data analysis Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines Strong attention to detail and communication skills Self-starter mentality with willingness to support a variety of accounting functions Preferred Experience Job costing or percentage-of-completion accounting exposure Multi-entity or business unit accounting experience Experience supporting operational leaders with financial reporting and analysis
