Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join a growing organization in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on a Long-term Contract basis. This position supports a busy accounting team during a period of elevated project activity and transactional volume, with a strong focus on a subscription-driven business environment. The ideal candidate brings a hands-on approach to daily accounting operations while also providing analytical support for ongoing initiatives and process enhancements.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day accounting transactions with a high degree of accuracy in a fast-moving environment.
  • Support financial activities related to recurring revenue and subscription-based accounting processes.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, maintain general ledger accuracy, and assist with month-end close activities.
  • Perform account and bank reconciliations to ensure completeness and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Review financial information to identify variances, trends, and areas requiring follow-up or correction.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to advance outstanding projects and support broader business objectives.
  • Use Excel to organize, reconcile, and analyze large volumes of financial data.
  • Recommend and support improvements to accounting workflows, including efforts tied to evolving systems or operational processes. Requirements
  • Proven experience in a Senior Accountant or Staff Accountant role within a fast-paced business setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of month-end close procedures, general ledger activity, and journal entry preparation.
  • Experience completing account reconciliations and bank reconciliations with strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with accounting considerations in a subscription-based or recurring revenue environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to work effectively with large datasets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on accuracy and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage transactional responsibilities while contributing to project-based accounting work.
