The Opportunity As a Senior Cost Accountant, you will analyze financial transactions, prepare journal entries to record inventory transactions and ensure revenue and expenses are correctly captured each month. In this role you will support the plants and work directly with the operations team to help solve complex transactions. This position will report to the Corporate Controller. QualificationsEducation:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (Preferred)Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years relevant cost accounting experience within a manufacturing operation- Unquestionable ethics and morals.
- High energy and resiliency to take on and work through challenging projects.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, customers, and outside contacts.
- Ability to establish and meet deadlines. Responsibilities
- Month-End and General Ledger Support of inventory related accounts: Assist with month-end close procedures, including journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliations.
- Reconcile revenue and COGS expense accounts from manufacturing to shipment and help produce the monthly financial package
- Sales, gross margin, cost variance analysis
- Assist with Work Order closing, status analysis and investigation.
- Liaising between Purchasing / Receiving to assist the recording of complex transactions
- Assist in the periodic forecasting process and annual budgeting.
- Support Operations Managers with budget vs actual, analysis and prepare reports and KPIs to aid decision making.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with systems (NetSuite a plus)Soft Skills:
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities; attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Work Location- In Office- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, present information to small or large groups, and collaborate across multiple levels of the organization.
- Perform other accounting-related tasks as assigned, including reporting and ERP system updates.
