Job Description

We are looking for an AR Accountant to join a manufacturing organization in Racine, Wisconsin on a permanent, onsite basis. This contract opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting specialist who enjoys balancing receivables, reporting, and operational support in a fast-paced environment. The position will contribute to day-to-day financial accuracy through transaction processing, reconciliations, inventory-related accounting, and customer account follow-up. Success in this role will come from strong Excel capabilities, sound judgment, and the ability to connect accounting activity with plant operations.
Responsibilities:
  • Record accounts receivable activity in the general ledger, including customer billings, incoming payments, and credit adjustments.
  • Process bank-related entries such as account corrections and transfers while maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Create recurring financial and operational reports in Excel on a daily, weekly, and monthly schedule.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances to support accurate period-end reporting.
  • Oversee business-to-business collection efforts by contacting customers, monitoring aging balances, and resolving past-due accounts.
  • Coordinate and support physical inventory count activities to help maintain reliable inventory records.
  • Perform inventory costing reviews and analyze inventory data to identify discrepancies or unusual trends.
  • Partner with accounting and operations teams to address issues within the manufacturing environment and improve reporting accuracy.
  • Research transaction differences and apply critical thinking to resolve accounting questions and exceptions.
  • Contribute to additional accounting assignments and ad hoc reporting needs as business priorities evolve.
