Manufacturing Cost Accountant

Job description

Location:

On site in Eau Claire, WI or Reidsville, NC

Travel Requirement:

This position supports both Drylock manufacturing facilities and requires periodic travel between Eau Claire, WI and Reidsville, NC.

Position Summary:

Drylock is seeking a Manufacturing Cost Accountant who thrives at the intersection of finance and operations. This role partners closely with Production and Supply Chain teams to understand manufacturing performance, transform data into meaningful business insights, and support informed decision-making. The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver with a collaborative approach, a solid understanding of manufacturing environments, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Analyze manufacturing performance by comparing actual production results against standard costs and budgets providing insights into cost drivers and variances.

Review manufacturing master data affecting product costs and coordinate corrections with the responsible operational teams.

Prepare monthly manufacturing reporting and support month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals, journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.

Facilitate regular manufacturing performance reviews with Production and Supply Chain, identify root causes of significant variances, and follow up on corrective actions.

Maintain finished goods standard costing and inventory valuation, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Perform obsolete inventory reviews and maintain related inventory reserves.

Maintain the fixed asset register and support the capitalization, depreciation, and reporting of capital expenditure projects including IFRS16 leases.

Support the annual budgeting process

Perform and document internal controls related to manufacturing costs, inventory, and fixed assets, and support internal and external audits within these areas.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

At least 3 years of experience in cost accounting, manufacturing accounting, or plant finance in an FMCG environment.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS.

Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory management, and standard costing principles.

Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP.

Advanced Excel, MS office and data analysis skills.

Ability to communicate effectively with both finance and operational teams and adapt to changing business priorities.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset.
