Job Description

Rotating Equipment Repair Inc., based in Sussex, WI, leads the power generation industry in aftermarket pump repair, replacement part manufacturing, and field installation and commissioning since 1982. Specializing in high-pressure multi-stage boiler feed pumps, RER provides its customers with high quality engineering services, repairs and parts for centrifugal pumps through the utilization of highly skilled professionals, cutting-edge technology, and proven work methodologies. What you will be doing as part of our team: The Staff Accountant will support the preparation of financial statements with adherence to GAAP and other regulatory standards and in accordance with company policies. Manage accounts receivable process, including project-based invoice processing and collection follow-up. File multi-state sales tax returns and annual reports with secretaries of state. Respond to requests for customer statements. Monitor accounts receivable inbox and bank account activity. Record and apply cash receipts transactions. Deliver check deposits to the bank. Perform general ledger account reconciliations and bank reconciliations. Maintain fixed asset records including addition, disposal, and amortization entries. Verify and enter non-PO vendor invoices. Reconcile and post company credit card statements and make and record monthly payments. Perform inventory cycle counts. Record intercompany transactions. Maintain current vendor certificates of insurance. Assist the CFO with ERP upgrade, testing and analyzing results. Manage process of converting vendors to ACH payments, including collection of bank account information and entry into company software. Assist the CFO in the ongoing development of general accounting, financial reporting, and internal control systems. Coordinate general accounting procedures with other departments. Recommend improvements in methods and procedures. Compile data and documents necessary for review by auditors and examiners. Back up the Accounting Department and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting. One to three years of experience is preferred. Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial data, reports, and government regulations. Ability to prepare reports, financial documents, and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, auditors, customers, and other employees of the organization. Must be able to explain details and insights, with understanding, to non-accountants. Must have excellent organizational skills and time management. Ability to multi-task & prioritize work while also being highly detailed. Ability to work on tight & cyclical deadlines. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to calculate depreciation schedules, sales and use tax, discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages. Experience in accounting software and company operating systems required. Proficient knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook. Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central software knowledge is preferred.
