Job Description

PURPOSE The Staff Accountant role is responsible for learning and applying their technical skills and working as part of a team carrying out tasks under close coaching and supervision.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops an understanding of the firm and the position. Develops technical skills on the job and through formal learning channels. Works as an effective team member to complete project components and assignment tasks. Builds working relationships at peer level. Seeks to gain knowledge of clients' business. Effectively documents work. Identifies task issues as well as task progress in a timely and organized manner. Participates in office wide initiatives. Actively pursues self-development opportunities.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform bookkeeping activities including recording income and expenses, bank and other account reconciliation, and adjusting journal entries. Preparation of payroll and payroll related tax deposits and returns including multi-state deposits and returns. Preparation of sales and use tax returns including multi-state returns. Preparation of compiled financial statements including compilation reports. Staff preparation of individual income tax returns.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Demonstration of technical skills. Quality of work output. Integration into the team. Meeting assignment objectives. Client satisfaction. Participation in firm wide initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
Minimum of an Associates degree in accounting or related experience. Developing technical knowledge regarding specific responsibilities. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills. Team player with a positive - 'can do' approach. Strong verbal and written communication skills. A general and growing knowledge of firm products and services. Strong technology skills including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and tax preparation software as well as standard office equipment.
Pay:
$20.00 - $40.00 per hour
