Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Revenue Accountant to join our accounting team. This position is responsible for the accurate recording and reconciliation of oil and natural gas revenue, ensuring compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and state and federal regulations. The ideal candidate has experience with upstream oil and gas accounting, production reporting, revenue distribution, and owner relations. This individual must possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This job will be an in-office position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Record monthly oil, natural gas, NGL, and other revenue transactions. Reconcile purchaser statements to production reports and revenue records. Verify production volumes and pricing using marketing contracts and settlement statements. Prepare and reconcile revenue accruals. Calculate and process royalty, overriding royalty, working interest, and other owner payments. Review and resolve revenue variances and discrepancies. Prepare and file state severance tax returns and related production reports. Assist with federal and state regulatory reporting. Reconcile general ledger accounts related to revenue. Work closely with Production, Land, Marketing, and Joint Interest Accounting departments to resolve ownership and production issues. Respond to owner inquiries regarding revenue payments. Assist with annual financial statement audits and internal audits. Maintain supporting documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls. Participate in process improvement initiatives and system implementations. Perform other accounting duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 2-5 years of accounting experience Strong Microsoft Excel skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail Ability to manage multiple deadlines Preferred Experience in upstream oil and gas accounting Knowledge of revenue accounting principles Familiarity with royalty calculations and ownership interests Experience with production accounting systems Knowledge of severance tax reporting Experience with ERP systems (such as WolfePak or similar) What We Offer Competitive salary 401(k) with company match Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays Professional development opportunities
Pay:
$52,000.00 - $62,400.00 per year
