Job Summary:
This position is responsible for supporting the finance department through the maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of journal entries account reconciliations. In addition, this position is responsible for the Outreach and Enrollment & Sliding fee functions. This position requires attention to detail, ability to work quickly and accurately, ability to work within deadlines, and to work well with others in a fast paced, deadline driven environment!
Roles & Responsibilities:
Support timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries balance sheet account reconciliations, accruals and overall maintenance of all operational accounts.

Support accounts payable, receivable and sliding scale process to ensure accuracy and timeliness of all activities Assist the Controller in preparing consolidated internal financial statements by gathering, analyzing, reviewing and ensuring information in the general ledger is accurate and properly classified in the financial statements. Assist in providing schedules and commentary with respect to general ledger accounts, researching and detailing variances to department managers, leadership, Controller, and CFO.Collect, track and trend, daily metrics, ensuring KPIs are met in all key areas of the organization.

Processes and reconciles patient refunds in conjunction with external billing vendor and accounts payable. Prepare and compile schedules, forms, and documentation for external auditors.

Effectively manages all policies and procedures related to the Sliding Fee Program in coordination with the Controller and CFO.Must renew yearly certification through the Marketplace for the ACA Program to assist in enrollments and keep up to date on all changes within the program.

Maintain the SVMS Sliding Fee Scale in accordance with the Federal Poverty Guidelines yearly.

Prepare and process the yearly Sliding Fee audit, including pulling all applications associated with that years audit request, ensuring accuracy, completion, and consistency, then scanning them for audit.

Maintain the SVMS certification through CMS by completing the certification program for both West Virginia and Virginia biennially.

Responsible for approving all sliding fee applications.

Manages patient grievances and concerns of the sliding fee program before escalating them to the Controller.

Other associated duties as assigned.
Essential Skills:

Qualifications & Education:
Bachelors degree in Accounting preferred.

Minimum of Associates Degree. A minimum of 1-2 years of experience preferredEntry level position for a college graduate with a 4 year Bachelors Degree in Accounting.

Knowledge of Healthcare accounting preferred
