About Us Ogden Newspapers, headquartered in Wheeling, West Virginia, is a respected publisher of daily and weekly newspapers, magazines, and digital media. Established in 1890 by H.C. Ogden, we've grown to encompass more than 50 publications from New York to Hawaii. Position Overview We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our growing team. In this role, you'll support the operations of the company through general ledger management, financial reporting, and data analysis. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic environment while sharpening your accounting skills and growing your career. Key Responsibilities Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide insight to management. Collaborate with operational teams to align financial processes with business goals. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. Ensure compliance with state and local regulatory reporting requirements Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or an Associate's degree with equivalent experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Ability to manage tasks independently and collaborate effectively in a team setting.
