Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic finance team as an Accountant/Bookkeeper and play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting our organization's financial health. Responsibilities Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including data entry, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping to ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions. Perform accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections. Reconcile balance sheets, general ledger accounts, and bank statements regularly to maintain financial integrity. Prepare detailed financial reports such as account analysis, budget comparisons, and balance sheet reconciliations using various accounting software like iSolve, Sage, SharePoint, T-value & Asset keeper Support payroll management processes utilizing systems such as iSolve and sage while ensuring compliance with tax regulations and payroll laws. Assist with tax preparation activities by maintaining accurate records of tax-related transactions and supporting audit requests. Ensure adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance standards, and governmental accounting requirements. Conduct internal audits and account reconciliations to verify data accuracy and identify discrepancies promptly. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting efforts, financial analysis, and cost control initiatives. Experience Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles. Strong knowledge of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger management. Hands-on experience with a variety of accounting software such as Excel, Sage, or similar platforms. Familiarity with payroll systems like iSolve as well as time management tools. Knowledge of tax regulations related to non-profit organizations or government agencies is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to perform detailed data entry with high accuracy (10 key typing skills). Excellent analytical skills for account analysis, credit analysis, budgeting support, and financial reporting.
