Schedule:
Full-Time | Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. A reputable local propane company in Jonesboro is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting & Office Manager to oversee daily office operations and manage all financial functions. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting payroll and tax processing, handling billing and accounts, and ensuring smooth communication across departments. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. About the Role This position serves as the central point for both administrative and financial operations within the company. The Accounting & Office Manager will be responsible for full-cycle bookkeeping, payroll processing, tax coordination, accounts payable and receivable, and overall financial reporting. In addition, this role will manage office workflows, support internal communication, and help maintain efficient daily operations. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily office operations, including front desk coverage, multi-line phone systems, filing systems, and general administrative functions. Manage full-cycle accounting duties including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), invoicing, billing, and account reconciliation. Process payroll accurately and on schedule while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations. Prepare, track, and assist with tax filings and related documentation as required. Maintain accurate financial records and generate reports to support business decision-making. Utilize accounting software (such as QuickBooks) to manage transactions, ledgers, and financial data. Coordinate with management to monitor accounts, resolve discrepancies, and maintain organized financial documentation. Communicate professionally with customers regarding billing, account status, and payment inquiries. Support vendor communication and ensure timely processing of invoices and payments. Assist with general office management tasks, including scheduling, recordkeeping, and correspondence. Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in handling sensitive financial and customer information. Requirements Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or office management, preferably in a business or service-based environment. Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger accounting. Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks. Familiarity with billing processes and financial recordkeeping. Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Professional communication skills for interacting with customers, vendors, and internal staff. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel for tracking and reporting. Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience accepted).
