Job DescriptionPurposeThe Cost Accounting Supervisor at the AP16 Packaging Center of Excellence is responsible for financial accounting, cost allocation, collection of data and preparation of reports that maintain AbbVie's cost accounting systems for businesses supported.
ResponsibilitiesLeads and reviews month-end processes for businesses supported. Includes but not limited to inventory reconciliation, manufacturing variance analysis including purchase price variances from raw material purchases or material usage variances. Understands monthly results and communicates with plant management team.
Prepares and reviews monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
Assists Operations teams in identifying areas for cost reductions and operational improvements during annual standard setting process and LBE forecasts.
Leads plant reviews and understands the growth/performance of their business and analyzes variances of actuals vs plan.
Responds to requests for internal audit and external audit under guidance of a manager. Maintain appropriate internal controls.
Leads New Product Introduction (NPI) and market extension cost estimation and development process, including presenting to AP16 leadership.
Supports standard and ad-hoc requests from AbbVie Finance outside of AP16 (i.e. Corporate Tax, Deferred Margin Team, Operations Accounting HQ, etc.)May have supervisory responsibility for one direct report.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
CPA desirable.
Minimum 6+ year's related accounting experience required with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with standard cost variances analysis preferred.
Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
Must be able to manage multiple priorities and achieve required timelines.
Experience in SAP and HFM preferred.
