Job Description

Job Overview Smith Nale and Company, Inc. is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant/Office Administrator to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial health and operational efficiency of our organization. You will be responsible for supporting various accounting functions, managing administrative tasks, and ensuring compliance with financial standards and regulations. Your energetic approach and strong organizational skills will help drive our success forward, making a tangible impact every day. Duties Perform data entry and maintain accurate records using accounting software such as QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, and Ultra Tax to ensure precise financial tracking. Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and account reconciliation. Support general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, and month-end closing procedures. Manage payroll processing; oversee payroll management and related tax filings to ensure timely and accurate employee compensation. Maintain organized records of financial transactions. Support administrative functions such as scheduling appointments, managing correspondence, and coordinating office supplies to ensure smooth daily operations. Annual preparation of business and individual income tax returns. Experience Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel. Hands-on experience with multiple accounting software platforms including QuickBooks Desktop, Quickbooks Online, Excel, or similar systems. Understanding financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, and account reconciliation. Knowledge of payroll management systems along with tax experience related to payroll processing. Demonstrated ability to perform data entry accurately. Excellent math skills combined with a keen eye for detail in account analysis and account reconciliation tasks. Experience in professional office preferred.
Pay:
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
