Job Description

Position Summary The Accounting Coordinator is responsible for a variety of accounting, management reporting and treasury activities as listed below. This role supports the accounting team in the day to day accounting tasks including Accounts Payable and Measurements Reporting. This individual is also responsible for engagement in the company's daily banking and treasury functions. Position Functions Create invoices and manage A/R aging Report and track daily bank activity Handle bank reporting & reconciliations Monitor and adjust Point-of-Sale requirements Assist with day to day clerical banking tasks Ensure accurate and timely G/L entries Assist the Controller with the year end audit Payroll support Conduct inventory reconciliation and investigate variances Finalize month end statements/Inclusive of journal entries & account reconciliations Balance Cost of Goods Sold/Investigate Gross Profit variances Maintain monthly cash management module Prepare various government remittances Supervisory role to the onsite accounting administrator Other duties as assigned Working Conditions The successful incumbent will be working 40+ hours per week in an office setting. On-going use of computer is required. Physical Requirements NONE Direct Reports Accounting Administrator Core Competencies Time Management Accountability and Dependability Analytical Technical knowledge Team Work Planning and Organization Ethics and Integrity Communication Energy & Motivation Ability to interact with managers/staff Initiative Problem Solving Preferred Qualifications Post-secondary education in Finance and / or Accounting preferred but not required Minimum of 3 years experience in accounting / financial reporting roles Experience in accounting as it relates to banking and treasury functions, including bank reconciliations Experience working either the construction or manufacturing sectors is preferred Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with various departments and customers High level of computer literacy, including mastery of MS Word, Excel and email Interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
