The Accounting Supervisor position leads the day-to-day operations of the Public Works accounting office. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively prioritize to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.

Key duties include:

Overseeing financial operations in a multi-fund environment. Assisting in the preparation of the department budget and monitoring expenditures. Providing monthly reporting Assisting managers and supervisors with monitoring of budget to actual expenditures. Monitoring and assuring compliance with grants and contracts. Preparing year end reporting to funding sources including State of Washington BARS Coordinating with the Finance Department on the annual audit Supervising Public Works accounting staff

Salary Range:

• Range 7 $6,410
• $9,308 per month Hiring rate depends on qualifications.

This position receives annual pay increases to the next step in the associated salary range (apx. 3.8%) subject to satisfactory performance, in addition to any negotiated Cost of Living Adjustments (COLA). Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or public administration or a related field; 4 years of progressively responsible related accounting experience; 2 years supervisory experience; Completion of the course work requirement for a CPA is desirable, including 36 quarter hours of course credit in each of the following: (1) accounting and (2) business. Experience in local government and with an integrated financial management system is desirable.
