Full Job Description Overview:
The Fort Lauderdale, FL office of Lewis Brisbois, a full-service AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking an Accounts Receivable Supervisor with legal experience. The primary responsibilities of this position include supervising a team of AR Specialist with day-to-day workflow; analyze, develop and track key performance indicators to ensure team accountability. The AR Supervisor will act as a liaison between the specialist and other internal teams/departments (e.g. billing/eBilling, rates , conflicts, billing attorneys, etc.). The AR Supervisor will participate in interviewing/training new hires and is responsible for daily collection workflow based on unique assigned billing attorney(s) and/or client(s). Familiarity with Aderant and ARCS is a plus. Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding and training of new candidates/staff provide constructive and timely annual performance evaluations Process write-offs pertaining to A/R and document/record detailed reasoning behind such write-offs Escalate clients/payors/billing attorneys to firm management to minimize financial risks Prepare collection procedures ads defined/trained; monitor/pursue outstanding A/R balances; thoroughly document/record actions taken on collection efforts and new updates received on an ad hoc basis; create appropriate follow-ups; establish payment arrangements/settlements of aged A/R per firm's policy Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements:
Associates Degree in a related field. (Bachelor's degree in related field a plus) At least five (5) years collections experience in the legal industry required At least three (3) years within a supervisory role, a plus Knowledge of the Federal Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, California Collections Laws and Legal Process Proficient in data analysis Strong negotiation and relationship management skills Lewis Brisbois is not accepting search firm submissions for this position.
