Job Description

The Scruggs Company is seeking a highly effective Accounts Receivable Manager . POSITION SUMMARY
The Accounts Receivable Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily functions of the AR department, including processing tickets and billing customers daily, maintaining orders and pricing templates, processing intercompany material usages and transfers, and reconciling cash and credit card payments received to cash sales invoices. In addition to these daily functions the AR Manager is responsible for reviewing customer accounts, contacting delinquent customers, and assisting management and leadership in maintaining appropriate aged AR balances. The AR Manager will be responsible for adhering to SOX and internal compliance controls as well as providing adequate documentation to both internal and external auditors testing these controls. The successful candidate is expected to communicate effectively with area and division managers, as well as various plant personnel, corporate office, and external parties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
In charge of collecting payments from clients in a timely manner. Manage the accounts receivable department of the company. Set regular weekly and monthly deadlines to process the payment and accounts. Prepare reports on regular intervals (monthly, quarterly and annual) making forecasts on payment flow. Oversee the processing and organizing of bills, records and invoices ensuring quality maintenance at every step. Ensure that all practices comply with the applicable legal requirements. Negotiate and settle non-payment disputes with clients efficiently. Stay connected with the industry's best practices and keep updating. Ensuring the AR team is working at the best capacity. Keeps track of all payment transactions by the company's clients.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field and/or at least five (5) years' experience in accounting or related field, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory capacity preferred. A combination of some education and related AR experience may also be acceptable. Experience in a corporate accounting/procurement environment preferred. In depth knowledge of and ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Understanding of basic accounting, including preparation of journal entries, expense accruals, prepaid expenses, and completion of general ledger account reconciliations. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Intermediate Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook skills are required. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required. Strong customer service, organization, creative problem solving and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage in a collaborative, results-oriented team environment. Highly organized; ability to manage multiple projects at once and meet deadlines. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
