Elliot Company is seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to lead the activities of the accounts payable department at our corporate headquarters in Lexington, KY. The Accounts Payable Manager is an integral member of Financial Services and is pivotal to the company's overall payables objectives. The ideal candidate is a servant leader who humbly and respectfully inspires exceptional performance within the department while adhering to the highest standards of integrity and professionalism. The Accounts Payable Manager must have an appetite for critical thinking and desire to drive the growth and improvement of the company's payables processes. Responsibilities Coordinates and directs the payables department that is responsible for 2,000+ vendors across 5 entities and leads this team in issue resolution Engaging mentor who cultivates knowledgeable and effective team members through individual growth and development Collaborates with regional finance as the payables point of contact in Financial Services As primary administrator, effectively designs and consistently maintains the company's payables related systems Identifies opportunities and implements improvements to internal payables processes and procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency Evaluates and applies regulatory changes to ensure company's compliance Coordinates and prepares year-end regulatory compliance, including 1099 preparation Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business program Five years or more of related experience in accounting or accounts payable Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; proficient in other MS Office products Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective communication with various internal and external groups Experience with ERP and vendor/supplier management systems Possesses the ability to address details in a time-effective manner Able to travel approximately 10% annually Ability to work on-site full-time Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting CPA certification or CPA eligible Experience in public accounting or with a large, publicly traded company Benefits/Culture Today, we are listed among Engineering News-Records Top 150 Specialty Contracting firms.
