Summary:
The Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all accounts payable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments, maintaining internal controls, and supervising a team of AP staff. This role involves supporting organizational transition and integration efforts to ensure a smooth change management process and alignment. This role plays a key part in maintaining financial integrity and supporting departmental goals.Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate daily accounts payable operations. Review and approve invoices, check requests, and payment runs. Ensure compliance withIRS 1099
requirements and other regulations. Develop and implement internal controls to mitigate risk of fraud. Train and support staff on AP procedures and systems. Monitor and reconcile AP transactions and reports. Act as liaison with vendors and internal departments. Assist with audits and financial reporting as needed. Maintain accurate records and documentation. Assist in coordinating and executing transition and integration activities, including training and operational alignment.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. 3-5 years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership role. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and AP best practices. Strong knowledge of AP systems, ERP platforms (SAP preferred), and automation tools. Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. NRG Energy is committed to a drug and alcohol-free workplace.
