Job Description

First Financial Bank has an immediate opening for an Internal Auditor at the Corporate Office located in El Dorado, Arkansas. The primary responsibility of this position is to conduct independent audits and follow-up procedures of financial records and control procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in accounting or related courses required. Any form of internal audit designation (CPA, CIA, etc.) or willingness to work toward achieving is a plus. Should have one year of experience in audit and/or banking.
COMPLEXITY
: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: Develop audit procedures and plans that meet the objectives delineated by the Chief Audit Officer. Responsible for performing audit procedures and reporting exceptions to the Chief Audit Officer. Compile written reports on the results of audit procedures. Communicate quarterly audit results to the Audit Committee at their quarterly meeting. Assist with external examination procedures and with preparation for external exams. Assist with the evaluation of internal control procedures implemented by management. Stay abreast of immerging issues in all areas of the internal audit environment.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
: Should have the ability to work with auditees diplomatically in sometimes adverse situations. Have a good understanding of human relations, good relationships with auditees, and the ability to make fair and equitable judgements in the review of possible procedural exceptions. Must possess good organizational skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office - Word & Excel and have the ability to learn various other computer software programs. Must be able to analyze and interpret computer-related issues. This position requires participation in continuing education programs to stay abreast of current bank audit requirements. Limited travel is required to audit outlying bank branches and complete continuing education courses.
