Position Summary Identifies, investigates, and corrects inventory discrepancies from computer records and physical counts to keep stock status and value of inventory accurate. Audits daily reports, submits adjustments. Tracks and posts warehouse expenses. Answers phones. Provides a high level of member service. Job Duties Prints, reviews, and files daily computer reports. Researches and audits accrued merchandise payables, receiving documents, shipping documents in computer. Verifies that the merchandise shipped is fully received by the warehouses. Reconciles the physical counts vs. the stock status vs. the book inventory and submits adjustments to the central office. Investigates vendor claims and warehouse inquiries by examining computer records, paperwork, and reports. Communicates with vendors, buyers, and coworkers by phone, fax, email, and in person. Counts and verifies merchandise that has been received but not shipped out of the depot to maintain accuracy in computer counts. Uses manual pallet jack to move pallets of merchandise and unstacks merchandise where needed to ensure good counts. Coordinates full physical inventory bi-annually. Verifies, codes and logs warehouse expenses. Keys purchase orders to computerized log. Tracks income, reviews payables transaction record, and general ledger. Answers phones and provides prompt, courteous service when assisting callers. Coordinates optical department startup kits for new locations. Checks that all inventory and non- inventory items are shipped 4-6 weeks prior to opening. Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery. Assists with department duties as necessary.
