Full Job Description Position Overview:
The Quality Product Auditor is responsible for ensuring product quality and compliance with company and customer standards throughout the manufacturing process. This role performs inspection, testing, and auditing activities to verify conformance to specifications, internal procedures, and ISO quality and environmental standards. The auditor functions as an Inspector, Technician, and ISO Auditor, supporting continuous improvement through data analysis, statistical process control, and internal audits. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Inspection Duties Perform setup verification checks to ensure production equipment and materials meet required specifications prior to production. Inspect shingles, in-process product, and finished goods to ensure conformance to quality standards and customer specifications. Apply and manage material hold tags and verify proper product identification including Certificates of Conformance (CoC) and finished load tags. Conduct inspections using
ANSI/ASQ Z1.4
statistical sampling plans . Collect, verify, and deliver customer samples as required. Perform additional inspection activities as assigned.
Technical / Testing
Duties Conduct various product and material tests, including but not limited to: Universal Product Code (UPC) tests Coefficient of Friction (COF) tests Moisture testing Opening force testing Score-bend and spring-back testing Force gauge testing Sutherland Rub testing Utilize statistical methods and calculations to support Statistical Process Control (SPC) . Assist with process capability studies (Cpk) to evaluate manufacturing performance and identify improvement opportunities. Record and analyze quality data to identify trends and potential quality issues. Auditing Duties Plan and conduct bi-weekly internal audits to verify compliance with quality and environmental procedures. Support compliance with •International Organization for Standardization standards including:
ISO 9001
2008 Quality Management Systems
ISO 14001
2004 Environmental Management Systems Document audit findings and communicate results to appropriate departments. Assist with corrective action follow-up and verification. Data Management & Reporting Develop and maintain databases and spreadsheets for tracking quality metrics. Enter and analyze statistical data using Minitab and Microsoft Office applications. Maintain accurate records and provide reports on quality performance. Collaboration Work closely with production, maintenance, and management teams to resolve quality issues. Communicate effectively with team members across departments. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and training programs. Required Education, Skills, and Qualifications Moderate math skills including: Percentages Decimal conversion Division, multiplication, addition, subtraction Understanding of mean, median, and mode Ability to read rulers and perform measurements Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Moderate computer proficiency including:
Microsoft Excel Microsoft Access Microsoft Word Minitab Ability to successfully complete training in: Quality assurance and quality control Statistics and SPC Paperboard manufacturing Lithography and pre-press processes Must successfully pass a math assessment prior to placement in the position. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. Certifications Must successfully pass the •Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB) examination through the American Society for Quality within one year of meeting prerequisite requirements and maintain certification to retain the position. Previous ISO auditing experience preferred. Physical and Visual Requirements Ability to visually inspect product quality including distinguishing between color shades where required. Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the production facility. Ability to handle product samples and testing equipment. Additional Requirements Excellent attendance and reliability. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Flexibility to support multiple departments and production shifts as needed.
