Job Description

at State of Delaware in Wilmington, Delaware, United States Job Description This position will review taxpayer filings and conduct audits of individuals to determine tax filing accuracy and compliance with applicable laws. This may involve adjusting income, deductions, or credits on personal income tax accounts or moving returns or payments. This position will issue correspondence, compile spreadsheets, and audit notes, draft Notices of Proposed Assessment, prepare audit reports and conclusion summaries, and assist DOR staff with technical questions. JOB REQUIREMENTS
for Tax Auditor I Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: Two years' experience in processing accounting, auditing or payroll transactions following applicable laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures. OR One year of experience in auditing, examining, preparing, analyzing or reconciling financial accounts and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures. OR Possession of a Bachelors degree or higher in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Business Management, Computer Information Systems or related field.
