Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Audit Manager to support a non-profit organization through a contract engagement. This role will lead internal audit activities that strengthen accountability, evaluate controls, and improve operational and financial practices across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong judgment, a hands-on approach to audit execution, and the ability to communicate findings clearly to leadership and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
  • Guide and oversee Lead Internal Auditors by assigning work, reviewing audit documentation, and ensuring completed audits meet detailed standards and organizational expectations.
  • Direct financial, operational, compliance, and information systems audits to assess internal controls, identify exposure areas, and measure how effectively business processes are performing.
  • Contribute to the creation and execution of the annual audit strategy by aligning audit priorities with risk evaluations and organizational objectives.
  • Examine financial records, operational activities, and system-related evidence to uncover control gaps, inefficiencies, or potential fraudulent activity, and recommend practical corrective actions.
  • Develop thorough audit reports that summarize observations, outline business impact, and present actionable recommendations along with management responses.
  • Present audit outcomes to senior leaders and key stakeholders, providing clear insight into risks, findings, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Support testing related to IT general controls and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements where applicable within the audit scope.
  • Monitor follow-up activities on audit findings to verify that corrective actions are implemented effectively and within expected timeframes. Requirements
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) credential required.
  • Demonstrated background in information systems auditing, including assessment of IT controls and related risks.
  • Experience performing or managing Sarbanes-Oxley testing and evaluating compliance-related control environments.
  • Prior experience at a senior audit level with responsibility for planning, executing, and reviewing audit engagements.
  • Strong knowledge of ITGC frameworks, internal control concepts, and audit documentation standards.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial, operational, and technical information and translate findings into practical recommendations.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting audit results to leadership and stakeholders.
