Job Description

The Utility Locating Auditor is responsible for evaluating the accuracy, quality, and compliance of underground utility locating work performed in the field. This role ensures that locators follow industry standards, company procedures, and state One-Call regulations. The auditor helps reduce damages, improve safety, and maintain high-quality locating performance.
Responsibilities:
Conduct in office audits of completed utility locates to verify accuracy, completeness, and adherence to specifications. Review maps, as-builts, GIS data, and utility records to confirm proper marking of underground facilities. Document audit findings, including photos, measurements, and detailed notes. Identify discrepancies, missed utilities, incorrect markings, or procedural violations. Provide feedback and coaching to field locators to improve performance and reduce future errors. Prepare audit reports and submit results to supervisors, quality managers, or clients. Track trends in locator performance and recommend corrective actions or training. Ensure compliance with state One-Call laws, safety standards, and company policies. Participate in damage investigations when needed. Maintain strong communication with supervisors and field technicians. Ability to read utility maps, prints, and GIS data. Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Comprehensive understanding of essential computer skills Valid driver's license and personal transportation Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Familiarity with state One‑Call processes and regulations. Technical proficiency with locating tools and audit software. Strong observational and analytical skills. Maintain professionalism when interacting with field / office staff. Requirements Entry Level Position In office
