Position Summary:
Performs quality inspections and audits in accordance with quality assurance program guidelines to prevent or eliminate errors due to overages, shortages or non-compliant materials.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
Follows specific instructions regarding special projects that involve the packing, repacking, labeling, sorting, and display assembly of product based on customer requirements. Ensures that the quantity, quality, labeling and addressing of outbound orders is correct. Performs inspection of outgoing material and works with personnel to identify, isolate and troubleshoot quality related concerns. Accounts for all defective or damaged product and follows appropriate corrective action. Verifies the accuracy of product count and product information against shipping and receiving documents, and checks product for damage. Reports shortages, damages, quality issues, and mis-shipments to management. Completes daily task paperwork accurately and entirely.
Marginal Functions:
Makes recommendations to stop shipment and storage of materials based on quality issues. Provides feedback to coworkers regarding Quality issues. Operates non-powered material handling equipment safely and efficiently as needed. Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Performs cycle counts or verification of inventory quantities and locations. Assist the Warehouse team in daily tasks as needed.
Job Specifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent, preferred 2. Basic reading and math skills 3. Must be computer literate 4. Previous experience in an Automotive Distribution Environment, preferred 5. Previous experience with continuous improvement plans and Lean Manufacturing techniques, preferred 6. Familiarity with SOX Compliance Requirements, preferred 7. Familiarity with SDS/Hazmat Safety, preferred 8. Must be able to follow specific instructions thoroughly and accurately 9. Able to lift up to 50 lbs safely as required 10.
