Quality Line Auditor Job Description The Quality Line Auditor ensures that production lines consistently meet Batch Record requirements, product specifications, and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). This role focuses on performing timely and accurate line audits, verifying equipment cleanliness, and supporting a strong quality culture grounded in lean principles. The position offers exposure to a diverse range of manufactured products and clear opportunities for career growth into QA Analyst or QA Specialist roles after 2-3 years of strong performance. Responsibilities Audit production lines on schedule to verify conformance with Batch Records, product specifications, and cGMP requirements. Inspect manufacturing equipment to confirm cleanliness and readiness for production. Accurately document all audit results in Batch Records and related quality documentation. Initiate corrective adjustments to manufacturing processes when needed, record all adjustments, and perform documented rechecks to confirm successful correction. Escalate quality issues according to established procedures to ensure timely correction and containment. Immediately report non-conformances to the Quality Unit to support rapid resolution. Support investigations of quality events as required to identify root causes and implement effective corrective and preventive actions. Consistently comply with Standard Work, cGMP, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Work Instructions. Promote and maintain a culture of lean action within the department, continuously seeking ways to improve processes and eliminate waste. Implement and maintain standards and processes that reduce waste and increase efficiency throughout the department. Apply and utilize lean tools to implement permanent process improvements. Institutionalize 5S (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) in all aspects of the department to maintain an organized and efficient work area. Perform visual inspections and quality checks on products and components as required. Participate in internal audits and support ongoing quality assurance and quality control activities. Perform other duties as assigned to support production, quality, and customer requirements. Essential Skills High School Diploma required. Prior auditing or inspection experience preferred. Prior exposure to quality assurance and quality control environments preferred. Experience with quality assurance, quality inspection, quality checks, and internal audits. Familiarity with cGMP, SOPs, and standard quality procedures in a production environment. Experience in quality inspection, visual inspection, and production quality control. Ability to read and write in English with strong comprehension skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Effective multi-tasking skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated sense of urgency in responding to quality issues and production needs. Critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze issues and identify appropriate corrective actions. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a manufacturing environment, particularly with consumer products such as beauty, bath and body, lip balms, skincare, sunscreens, and cleaning detergents, is beneficial. Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts and tools is highly valued. Experience applying 5S principles (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) in a production or quality environment. Comfort working under tight deadlines and managing cyclical workloads with periodic interruptions. Ability to collaborate effectively with production, quality, and other cross-functional teams. Willingness to work additional hours beyond the normal workday when business demands require it. Interest in long-term career growth into roles such as QA Analyst or QA Specialist after 2-3 years of successful performance. Work Environment This position is based at a manufacturing facility in Chaska and operates on a 2nd shift schedule, typically from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a shift differential for off-shift work. Depending on business needs and incoming components, 5-10 hours of overtime per week may be required, although the frequency and amount can vary. The role may require work hours beyond the normal workday, particularly during periods of high demand and tight deadlines. The work is cyclical in nature and involves moderate interruptions in workflow, including starting and stopping activities based on production and customer requirements. Travel is limited. The work environment is indoors and can be seasonally cold, hot, or humid. Team members may be exposed to various fragrances, sometimes at elevated levels, due to the wide range of products manufactured, including beauty, bath and body, lip balms, skincare, sunscreens, and cleaning detergents. The role requires frequent standing and walking (approximately 4 to 6 hours per day), along with infrequent to moderate bending, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, reaching, lifting, and grasping. There is occasional repetitive motion and hand/wrist movement, and some work at a computer terminal. The position requires good eyesight, normal hearing, and fluency in English. Team members may need to move and lift objects, sometimes up to 50 pounds frequently.
