Southeast MO Applicants must reside in one of the following counties or be willing to relocate (Bollinger, Butler, Cape Girardeau, Carter, Dunklin, Iron, Jefferson, Madison, Mississippi, New Madrid, Pemiscot, Perry, Reynolds, Ripley, Scott, St. Francois, St. Genevieve, St. Charles, St. Louis, St. Louis City, Stoddard, Washington and Wayne) Why you'll love this position: The Missouri Dept. of Agriculture's Grain Regulatory Services Program licenses and regulates grain warehouses and grain dealers in Missouri, offering a means of protection to Missouri's grain producers in case of warehouse or grain dealer insolvency. In Missouri, any individual, business, or grain elevator storing grain for others, must have a valid grain dealer's license. Team members in this position serve a critical front-line role in protecting Missouri grain farmers and insuring a solid and stable grain industry within the state by completing audits of licensed grain facilities and investigations of potential violations of the Missouri Grain statutes. This position offers a flexible 40-hour work week, a state vehicle and all necessary equipment, including laptop. The salary indicated represents the current regular pay rate for this position. If the individual selected is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., Years of Service), it will be added to total compensation on their paycheck. A pay differential does not raise base pay. Responsibilities - What you'll do Examine grain company business records and facilities, conduct interviews to determine whether a Missouri Grain Warehouse or Grain Dealer licensee is following state and federal statutes and regulations Prepare and submit investigation and audit findings using laptop computer and associated software Conduct physical inventories of stored grain(s) which require the ability to adapt to and work in an environment that will periodically include factors such as noise, foul air, grain dust, inclement weather, extreme heights and moving machinery Communicate audit findings with grain company management, accountants, and attorneys to explain applicable statutory and administrative regulative provisions Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, grain businesses, other professionals in the grain trade industry and the public Perform other related work as assigned Qualifications - All you need for successMinimum Qualifications:
Possess a valid Missouri Driver's License Four (4) or more years of professional or technical experience in accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, business, public administration or in a closely related area. Experience can come from a combination of direct work experience and/or completion of a relevant post-secondary degree. Prior experience in Agriculture is preferred Lack of post‐secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
