SVP of Human Resources Supervisory Responsibilities:
N/A General Function:
Performs financial and operational audits on all functions of the Whitefish Credit Union.
Position Functions:
Perform basic audit procedures such as identifying scope, selecting samples, reviewing transactions, interviewing auditees, and performing analytics. Prepare audit summaries which detail findings and any recommended corrective measures for review prior to submission to Management and the Supervisory Committee. Review and evaluate internal controls within the Whitefish Credit Union as outlined in the audit plan to determine whether policies and procedures are being followed. Perform on-going audit tracking and follow-up. Review and monitor periodic loan reports. Review the means of safeguarding assets and, as appropriate, verify the existence of such assets. Prepare and maintain organized work papers sufficient to support findings, conclusions and recommendations. Provide support for completion of annual risk assessment and audit plan. Stay current on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and professional auditing standards. Continue professional development through training and participation in professional organizations. Travel to branch offices as required. Report to work on time and as scheduled. Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Excellent analytical ability, and ability to conduct thorough research, interpret and understand laws and regulations, and provide workable recommendations and solutions to problems. Valid Montana driver's license and good driving record, plus the ability to maintain insurability under Whitefish Credit Union's vehicle insurance policy. Ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing and over the phone with all internal and external stakeholders. Courtesy and tact are essential. Ability and willingness to interact calmly and professionally with people from all backgrounds. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize day-to-day responsibilities with attention to detail and timeliness. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to work with others in an effective manner, listen well, share work-related information and be tolerant of others' work styles. Competent with Microsoft Office; ability and willingness to work with a variety of office equipment and software systems. Ability to lift up to 15 lbs., with or without accommodation. Complete mandatory annual BSA training that includes Red Flag, Identity Theft, OFAC, CTR and SAR reporting and thresholds, as well as the safe keeping of member information, and pass any applicable tests. Follow all Whitefish Credit Union, Montana and Federal information privacy guidelines. Adhere to all Whitefish Credit Union policies and procedures, as well as the Audit charter. Protect Member and Whitefish Credit Union confidential information.
Required Education and Experience:
Three to five years minimum of experience within the credit union or banking industry required. Associate's or bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting or finance preferred. Knowledge of credit union or other financial institution operating areas, functions, products and services, and the laws and regulations which apply to credit unions, required.
