Job Description

Audit Senior Accountant Lumsden McCormick, one of the most respected accounting firms in Western New York and Certified™ by Great Place to Work®, is seeking an experienced Audit Senior Accountant with demonstrated interest and experience providing quality client service. This is an incredible opportunity to join a great team and contribute to our growth and yours! As a senior accountant in the audit department, you will be expected to provide a full spectrum of accounting services. You must also be able to balance multiple projects, while maintaining our strict standards of professional quality. You will employ your prior experience in public accounting by assisting in all stages of a client engagement or project. Although an actively licensed CPA is preferred, we welcome CPA candidates as well.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, lead, and execute complex audit assignments Identify areas of risk and recommend improvements Ensure compliance with regulations and controls by examining and analyzing records, reports, operating practices, and documentation Supervise activities and review work of audit staff Support Managers, Principals, and Partners as needed Assist with accounting and attestation services Assist clients with bookkeeping Stay up-to-date with changes in industry regulations, standards, and practices Occasional travel to clients as needed
EXPERIENCE
A degreed professional who is certified or pursuing the CPA designation, with 2 to 6 years of public accounting experience Proficient in Microsoft Office and QuickBooks Experience with CCH Axcess highly desirable A solid communicator Proficient in organization and interpersonal skills Willing to learn Strong attention to detail Ability to work additional hours to meet client deadlines
