A Compliance Auditor examines records and procedures to determine adherence to regulatory guidelines of an organization. Inspects accounting, IT or security, prepares reports on the compliance with required regulations and risk management procedures.
The Healthcare Compliance & Privacy Auditor supports the Compliance and Privacy Office by performing entry-level auditing, monitoring, data extraction, documentation, and follow-up activities related to healthcare compliance, privacy, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
Minimum of one year of general health care experience. Experience in healthcare compliance, privacy, auditing, health information management, revenue cycle, billing, coding, quality, risk management, legal, or regulatory operations preferred.
Education:
Associates degree preferred.
Licensure & Certifications:
HCCOMP - Healthcare compliance certification required within 18 months of employment .
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Familiarity with HIPAA, patient privacy, healthcare compliance, fraud and abuse laws, conflicts of interest, documentation requirements, or government payer audits preferred. Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, electronic medical records, audit tracking tools, or reporting platforms. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to review data, identify inconsistencies, and recognize potential issues requiring follow-up. Ability to extract, organize, and summarize information from multiple systems and sources. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and use sound judgment. Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities. Ability to work independently while also knowing when to escalate questions or concerns. Willingness to learn healthcare compliance, privacy, regulatory, and audit concepts. Professional, respectful, and collaborative approach when working with internal and external stakeholders.
