Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Deputy Clerk. As a Deputy Clerk, you will provide administrative support and assist with various duties within our organization. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in working in a government setting and gaining valuable experience in financial concepts and accounting.
Duties:
  • Assist with processing financial transactions and maintaining accurate records
  • Perform general ledger accounting tasks, including reconciliations and journal entries
  • Prepare financial reports and assist with regulatory reporting requirements
  • Utilize accounting software to input and track financial data
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Assist with financial auditing processes, including gathering documentation and conducting internal audits
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts and governmental accounting principles
  • Proficiency in general ledger accounting
  • Experience working with accounting software systems
  • Knowledge of public accounting practices is a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Strong analytical skills for problem-solving and decision-making
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Please note that this is not an entry-level position.
