Job Description

Shift:
3rd Shift Description The Quality Auditor is responsible for first inspection and dimensional checks of parts on every job order before normal production cycle begins and in ensuring that last piece inspection is retained. The Quality Auditor's primary job function is to perform a minimum of hourly inspections on product and process audits as required. Responsibilities
  • This position's top priority is hourly rounds at the presses performing visual inspection on parts, packaging, labeling, and all other required items per the job manual and quality standards. If the Quality Auditor is not able to complete the hourly rounds, he or she must notify the Shift Supervisor immediately.
  • Must have the ability to make decisions on product utilizing tools and information provided.
  • Retrieve samples for Start of Runs and putting away samples for End of Runs.
  • Responsible for all Start of Run first piece approvals by comparing the first parts off the press to the last piece samples from the previous run.
  • Complete all Start of Run and End of Run documentation.
  • Properly identify all First Piece Approval and Last Piece parts.
  • Ensure that all required dimensional inspections are completed and notify the Shift Supervisor and/or the Quality Manager immediately of concerns and/or nonconforming issues.
  • Complete all appropriate quality documents that are required for visual and dimensional inspections being performed in-process.
  • Containing, tagging documenting, and notifying the Shift Supervisor of any nonconforming product per work instructions or sample parts.
  • Communicate all quality issues with incoming and off going shifts.
  • May be required to perform 100% inspection on product lines to support Certification jobs and Safe Launch.
  • Stamp all part labels to verify that product has been inspected and is ready to ship.
  • Assist with Machine Operator training or retraining when necessary.
  • Provide instruction to each Machine Operator as needed in quality issues addressed in Quality Alerts and/or work instructions and quality criteria.
  • Verify the Machine Operator is following proper work instructions and inform Team Lead if they are not.
  • Assist with automatic presses that are assigned to the Lead Team.
  • Report any safety issues in their work area to the Shift Supervisor immediately.

  • Stand for a normal 8-hour shift
  • Occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch
  • Must have full range of body movements including use of hands to handle or feel objects
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Repetitively grab, flex, and twist hands, shoulders, and upper extremities
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Due to time-sensitive nature of manufacturing, some overtime including 12-hour shifts and weekend work may be required
